On-grid solar systems are also known as grid-tie solar systems. They don't use batteries, so they don't fail during power outages. The electricity they generate is immediately used at home, saving on electricity bills. If our solar panels are generating too much power and we can't fully utilize it at home, the excess electricity is transferred to the power grid. 

We essentially lend the excess electricity that goes to the power grid to the power company. Later, whenever our solar system produces less electricity, we can reuse the electricity supplied to the power grid. This solar system shuts down after a power cut. On-grid solar systems are installed in areas where power outages are less frequent. Electricity is exchanged through net meters.
